Clifford G.

Cliffy could sleep anywhere. He was such a silly kitty that he had lots of nicknames. The younger humans and Mommy often called him “Snoot.” When the humans first adopted Clifford, and took him to the vet for his checkup, the nurse asked what was Clifford’s full name. Daddy can be just as silly as Cliffy, and so he answered “Clifford G.” The nurse asked what the “G” stood for, and Daddy thought of a hippo and answered “Garonomus.” That is how this whole project got its silly name.

Even though Cliffy is gone, the site will still keep his name.

Serene Cliff

Cliffy sometimes could be very calm, and project an air of wisdom. This is one of the the last pictures the humans took of Cliffy. Just about a year ago, Cliffy wasn’t feeling well and Mommy took him to the vet. The vet took x-rays of Cliffy – and then had very sad news. Mommy and Daddy rushed back to the vet to say goodbye to Cliff. All the humans still miss him very much.

Scary Cliff

Cliff did NOT like the flea collar Mommy got for him. The other kitties don’t have fleas – what makes Cliff so delicious to the fleas? Maybe if Cliff grows loud enough the fleas will get scared and leave!

Curious but confused

Cliffy heard his humans come in this little room, and sometimes he even saw them sitting on this thing. They don’t use the litter box or go outside like Neighbor, but SOMETHING happens in here. Cliffy just wasn’t sure what.

Cliffy in training

Clifford G. imagines that he is a great hunter. He’s only caught lizards so far, unlike She Who Must Not Be Named, who hunts (and eats) gophers, rats, mice and even a couple of bunnies in the back yard. But he knows he can be an even greater hunter, and so he must train himself in these ancient feline arts. Cliffy says not to be fooled by how cute he looks in training – he is only honing his warrior ethos!

Too darn hot!

Even though Neighbor and Clifford G. do not usually tolerate each other in the same room, the heat wave has made finding a cool spot very important. Today all three cats are hiding in the sun room by Mommy’s new home office: Clifford under Mommy’s new desk, Biff on his new bed by her shelves, and Neighbor on the couch. It’s too hot to fight!

King of the (blanket) mountain

Cliff imagines himself a great mountaineer. Or maybe he’s dreaming of the Princess and the Pea. Probably, though, he just found this pile of blankets irresistibly comfy. Daddy made a mental note that this blanket needs to be taken outside and shaken out very good before it can be used again – kitties shed a lot in the summer.

Night Vision?

Night Vision?

Clifford likes to spend time with the youngest human in the family he adopted. And she can only fall asleep if there is a movie on her tablet. One night, after she fell asleep, Cliff wanted to see what it is that has her so engrossed she doesn’t even pay attention to a wonderful cat sitting next to her! He was very disappointed that it was just flashing colors that don’t even smell. Surely a wonderful cat like him is more interesting than those colors!

Cliffy’s giant water bowl

Cliffy's giant water bowl

Sissy thought this utility tub was to harden the new concrete birdbath she is making for the back yard. Clifford is pretty sure this is just a water bowl that never runs out. Neighbor Kitty can’t wait for the birdbath to be done so she can get more back yard snacks.
